Dive Journal: We travel south of the Fredericksted Pier to do our surface interval and enjoy the nice morning topside from the boat. We finally submerge to the dive site formerly called “Dan’s Reef,” but renamed in the 1970’s by a group of young divers.

It is a shallow reef dive characterized by many coral “islands” peppering the sand flats. There is a huge green moray located midway through the dive, and then a fabulous gold spotted moray that made some stunning video.

We love the long bottom times allowed by some shallower dives, and I especially like that the N2 The Blue staff encourages it.
