Dive Journal: We’ve scheduled a 4th dive today and Ron and Santiago take us to Chankanaab. It’s getting late in the day, another near-twilight dive. Accordingly, the lobsters and crabs are all starting to peek out of their crevices. Ron finds several more splendid toadfish and coaxes them out, but with my blind videoing, I barely get a decent frame of one. We check out a nice fairy basslet at one spot. It’s been a great 4-tank day.

We take a taxi downtown tonight and mill around the waterfront area. There are plenty of tourists around due to the presence of several huge cruise ships staying the night, big Royal Caribbean and Carnival monstrosities. After some window shopping, we finally choose to dine at Café Denis, and we’re lucky to get a great little table outside on the sidewalk so we can enjoy the evening and watch all the pedestrian traffic. The “Phil Denisuk” selection of the night: the lime soup.
