Rob never got a good shot of an eagle ray, but these
gorgeous turtles were great subjects.

Dive Journal: We’re still buzzing about our great encounter with the dolphins! John’s come out to dive with us this time, and we head to a site pretty close to the Lodge called Cut Throat, so named due to its numerous cuts and channels that run perpendicular to the wall.

First thing in the water, we spot yet another beautiful spotted eagle ray – I’ll never get tired of seeing one. This one just glides right by us with 2 remoras jockeying for position beneath.

Over the wall we spot a big crab resting on a ledge of coral. Then a pretty little turtle comes along and starts playing with Bo like they are old friends. This one almost behaves like it is the same one we met at the Zoo (dive no. 179), which I guess is possible. The turtle turns slowly around and faces each of us. Bo scratches its shell a bit, then Linda slowly approaches and does the same thing.

It’s another fairly deep dive and we’re pushing our no-deco limits after 45 minutes or so.
