Dive Journal: We spend our surface interval again at the dock of a beach club, and Johnny decides he’ll pass on today’s second dive as well. He elects to stay on the beach here to do some reading, so we promise to stop by later to pick him up after the dive.

Santiago takes us to La Francesa, and our dive starts out in near-zero current. There are especially plenty of graysbys and hinds here, and I enjoy shooting more video. There is also a nice eel snake. Midway though the dive, the current changes direction and picks up considerably, so Julio does a U-turn. This is probably the swiftest current we felt during this dive trip, and it is fun for all to ride the flow.

When we surface there is no boat to be found – Santiago hasn’t anticipated the current change below. We float on the surface for five minutes or so checking out jellyfish. Julio eventually inflates Linda’s safety sausage so Santiago and the Shamu can find us. He eventually comes into sight and picks us up.
