LOCALE OF DIVE

This dive log was created in 1997, to serve as an online dive log, short photo album, and dive journal. Written in static HTML on Notepad - which would be pretty crazy these days. It's now 2015, and I'm not diving so much these days, but I really enjoy going back to recall many scuba adventures over the years.

Dive Pages: Each dive page is presented in a format like this one - it includes the normal dive log information in the margins at left and underneath. In addition, each dive page includes notes or stories about the dive and a related picture in this primary space. As much as possible, an image from that dive or at least that dive trip is used. The source images include analog photos, digital photos, and quite a few video frame captures. If you'd like to use one of these photos somewhere, obviously you could just nick it from the site, but email me here rich at richsdivelog dot com and I can probably send you a higher res file without watermark.

Personal Rating: For fun, I've rated my dives. Note that its just for fun and not intended to reflect the general diveworthiness of any particular site. Like many recreational divers, I prefer warmer water diving and I enjoy trying to visit some of the best dive sites in the world, and so that’s my baseline. The ratings reflect my memory of a dive more than anything, taking into account chance encounters with critters, conditions that day, my comfort on the dive, and probably my mood.

	Very bad dive. Typically, awful visibility or something bad happened or both.
½	Lousy dive. Poor visibility or practically nothing to see.
	Not-so-good dive. Typically, low visibility or little to see or short duration or discomfort, etc.
½	Below average dive. Seldom used rating because it's always fun to be diving.
	Good dive. Most dives fall here and the next rating – an average great-to-be-diving dive.
½	Above average dive.
	Very good dive. Typically, saw something cool or had great conditions or just felt great during the dive.
½	Excellent dive, among the best. Pristine conditions, saw something way-cool, etc.
	Perfect dive. Yet to be experienced. E.g., saw an albino two-headed whale shark.
