Dive Journal: Our second dive of the day starts with a descent into a gorgeous garden of large clams. The lips on these clams are painted in wild psychedlic colors and patterns – way cool! This garden of clams was actually cultivated by humans and is located adjacent to the mooring buoy.

We are also starting to identify a few varieties of Pacific fishes. We see several regal angelfish and a humphead bannerfish. We see pinktail triggers and a circular spadefish. I spot one of my favorite friends from Hawaii, a pyramid butterflyfish (see Dive No. 41).

We are again astounded by the amazing variety of corals and particularly by the abundance of the many colored Christmas tree worms. These bristly worms are present in many shades of blues, yellows, whites, and blacks, and some are striped or spotted.
