Dive Journal: There are new divers on the island this morning – a friendly crew from Minnesota. Staying at the Tradewinds allows us to meet the other divers more often, and we quickly link up with George, a very pleasant retired bank vice president. Linda from NY is diving again with us today.

Michael decides to head to Three Pillars again this morning since we liked it so much yesterday. This time Janel does nearly all the video work. I spy a nice view of a juvenile queen angelfish and examine some hydroids here. Once again I enjoy the nearly vertical wall here. There is a beautiful honeycomb cowfish down the wall, and a few huge schoolmasters hiding among ferny growths.

On top of the wall, there is a porcupinefish that flees quickly whenever I get close. Janel and Linda exit a little early due to cold, so I continue with the video camera for a while beneath the boat and gets some interesting shots of a rock hind and a coney.

I’m having some trouble keeping my Salt Cay neoprene beanie on my head, so Michael suggests I cut a dime-sized hole in the top to let the air or water flow through some.

“Welcome to Salt Cay!”
