Dive Journal: Islote is a small rock offshore just south of the village of Cabo Pulmo. The rock slopes down into the water to approximately 70' and these slopes are covered with corals and fish life. Visiblity here was a little bit murky due to some recent storm runoff. We did a slow 360° tour around the rock base and slopes. On the adjacent sand flats there are dozens of garden eels. I also viewed an amberjack and a pompano mid-water. The slopes were home to numerous spotted morays and starfish. At the dive end, I shadowed a Moorish idol for quite a while, and he afforded me a close inspection.
