Dive Journal: The conditions are once again perfect this morning, and so we waste no time in getting ready for another shore dive. We are not disappointed.

I hike my gear up to the site this morning, which I find a lot easier than swimming it. Linda completes the surface swim again.

Today’s dive is practically a repeat of yesterday, and it is just as great. We find it luxorious to combine so much bottom time with the leisurely pace of not answering to a dive boat or other divers. We swim out to the school of 10,000 grunts and again lounge there for many minutes. On the outer reaches of the reef, we relax on the sand flats in the peaceful waters.

There are quite a few huge green moray eels to be found. We also spot a beautiful mottled patterned bluish grouper. One highlight was the sighting of a spotchy multicolored puffer fish, who is painted like a VW van from the 1960s. I decide that it is a “hippy puffer.” We also enjoy observing dozens of tiny red crabs nestled into the crevices of coral everywhere.

On the swim back, we are entertained by ZILLIONS of fry about 6 inches off the sandy bottom. It is incredible to see how many of them are grouped together.
