Dive Journal: During lunch we head still further north, and we finally settle between Highborne Cay and Oyster Cay to a site called Basketstar Reef. Johnny is up for a fun dive between his training dives, so he will be my buddy. 42090008 Basket Star Reef 24 42.37 76 49.88

The dive consists of a leisurely tour around many shallow coral patches. This reef is aging but it seems to have a beautiful range of pastel colors. Mild current flowing here and a good assortment of sponges. I manage to get some serious closeup video of a rock hind, right into its eyes. In other spots, there are more “nests” of yellowheaded jawfish.

Another great dive as our week winds down on the AquaCat.
