Moorish idols - so stunning they look like cartoons.
Videograph by Rich Torkington in Mexico 2005
Dive Journal: This dive is quite a bit south of Islote and Cabo Pulmo Beach Resort, and I think it is seldom dived by Vista Sea Sport. It consists of a long N-S ridge of rocks, reef, and rock crevices surrounded by sand.

We explore the site in a zig-zagging pattern across the line of rocks. There are big schools of yellowtail surgeonfish, some nice groupers, a jewel moray, and some beautiful moorish idols. We are again treated to several large free swimming panamic green morays, but by now we are getting practically used to them. We discover a big butterfly ray in the sand who stubbornly refuses to move for a while while we examine him.

This turns out to be a nice long dive where we see mexican goatfish, big bumphead parrotfish, bicolor parrotfish, blunthead triggerfish, and spotted boxfish.
